If you are a company in the tourism sector and looking for financing to improve cybersecurity, keep reading
Indeed, this is highly relevant for you! The Government is allocating 25 million euros to financing for the tourism sector to digitalize tourism companies. The Official State Gazette (BOE) has published the order of the guidelines that will regulate the granting of the first call for aid from the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism to intensify the digitalization of companies in the tourism sector, with a budget of 25 million euros. Of this budget, 80%, 20 million, will be allocated to medium/high-risk technological development programs that incorporate emerging or newly developed technologies in the field of cybersecurity, among others.
Without a doubt, this financial support represents a great opportunity for organizations seeking to boost their company's cybersecurity and maximize their protection to avoid vulnerabilities, malware, phishing, data theft, and to protect payment methods and your clients’ data.
The tourism sector is one of the most affected by online payment card fraud. We are dealing with a sector that performs millions of financial operations online every day—not only purchases, but invoice payments and all kinds of banking transactions using payment cards. The data generated by this large number of operations has become highly desirable for cybercriminals, and for this reason, to protect all this information, the main financial service companies – VISA, MasterCard, Discover, JCB, and AMEX – created the PCI Data Security Standard (PCI DSS). A security certification whose objective is to reduce credit card–related fraud and increase the security of the data involved in online transactions.
For those who are not familiar with the PCI DSS certification, it is a regulation that every company processing, storing, or transmitting card data must comply with. The PCI DSS standard certifies the possession of a secure payment card data protection system, thus preventing potential fraud involving such data.
Vulnerabilities have also become a serious issue for the sector, and for this reason, ISOPH Vulnerability is the answer. Cutting-edge technology that enables monitoring and security against vulnerabilities to keep your systems updated, patched, and protected. A product that:
Cybersecurity incidents are becoming increasingly common across all sectors, and their consequences—including substantial economic losses—can severely damage an organization’s image and reputation.
